The Tourism industry makes up a significant part of the economy, directly and indirectly providing employment to numerous individuals.

Careers in tourism offer many diverse roles and settings. Tourism careers can include working in a hotel or resort, on a cruise ship, in an adventure sports centre, as a tour guide leading activities and historical trips, as a travel guide writer or as a driver or flight attendant.

Individuals in the tourism field should have a love and appreciation for travel, strong coordination and organisational skills to coordinate trips, services, schedules and accommodation, and enjoy working with people.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

There are no entry requirements for this qualification. However, students will be required to provide their USI and complete a language, literacy and numeracy test.

MINIMUM AGE

Minimum age is 15 years. If you are under 18 your application must be signed by a parent or guardian.

TRAINING AND ASSESSMENT DELIVERY

Training and Assessment will take place:

External learning: Training and assessment takes place externally and involves discussions and activities. Study modes can include on-line or off-line using hard copy workbooks or a combination of both. All modes are supported by our highly experienced training team.

Assessment: The methods in which students are assessed may include written questions, scenarios and observations.
